We here at OREO Consulting represent banks or institutions that have a minimum of 50 cases of other real estate owned (OREO’s) or real estate owned (REO’s) in their portfolio. Your bank may have many types of real estate in its inventory including single family homes, land, commercial properties and more. Our focus is not to manage your inventory, but to help you put together an exit strategy and to help with the workout process.
We are experts at putting together exit strategies for each of the cases that your bank has, or is going to have, in its inventory. No two cases are alike at all. One case might be 40 condo units in a 200 unit project, or an unfinished subdivision, or a dozen homes built on speculation, or any amount of random buildings, vacant land, or businesses. We are consultants and advisors that come along side of you and work your client for maximum loss recovery. Having negotiated over 5000 transactions in the last 24 years, we bring a unique level of knowledge to the table, unlike anyone else in this field.

Our concerns are the same in that most of your clients did not plan to get to this juncture in life and have no idea how to get out of it. Your bank may not have all of skills needed to negotiate a successful workout of a client and his personal guarantee without taking him down. Sometimes it’s better to leave the client in place long enough to come up with an exit strategy or a forbearance agreement. Sometime it’s just better, because of situations that are going on, to force a client into bankruptcy and put the property into a receivership role.
